- Meet Mr. Compton

It is my pleasure to be the music specialist at Trillium Creek Primary School in West Linn, Oregon. Every day, it is truly wonderful to share my love of music.
I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I received my bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of North Texas in 1992 and my master’s degree in technology in education from Lesley University in 2009. My experience in teaching consists of 3 years high school band in Texas, 3 years middle school band in Nevada, and 1 year of audio and video production at a high school in New Mexico. I came to the WLWV school district in 2002. I have taught general music at Sunset, Bolton, and Cedaroak Park Primary Schools. I have taught Orchestra at Athey Creek Middle School.
In 1996, I took a year off from teaching to live alone in a log cabin deep in the wilderness of New Mexico. I spent the year writing music full-time and composed over 100 songs.
I have played piano and drums professionally, both as a solo artist and with groups. One of the songs I played on enjoyed a brief run on the radio.
I am currently in my 25th year of teaching. I am learning new things every day, trying to help bring the best music education possible for the students of Trillium Creek.
I love living in West Linn with my wonderful wife, our two amazing children, and our quirky tuxedo cat named Bristol.
