Christy Thompson or chair motor here Ginger Fish vice-chair King Martin here. All right, and dr. Ludwig, would you please move on to introductions? How do that good evening School Board? This is always an exciting [00:01:00] time of the year and an exciting recognition to give we have new leaders in our schools as you've been getting those emails from us and tonight is your evening to meet them. So I'd like to invite up. Dr. Downs, dr. Pryor and dr. Swanson and I think you have an order in which you're going to introduce. Our new principals and introduce them to you and then at some point we have also some new assistant principals we're able to be here tonight and their principles will introduce them to you and then when we're all done with the introductions, we will take a break as a group so that you can meet them in person. Thank you. Dr. Ludwig. I know that I speak for my colleagues when I say how excited we are to share people moving into either a new District which is s or new positions. So at the primary level we are incredibly excited for for [00:02:00] new additions to our primary team like the start with k. Donegan who would like to introduce to you as the new principal of Trillium Creek Primary School Kate has I can't count. The number of ways Kate has served our district and influence instruction and Leadership over the years. She has served as instructional coordinator into schools, but Beckman Creek primary school, and she was one of the initial staff that opened Trillium Creek Primary School. And was instrumental in helping us higher create a brand new culture at that school and to Pioneer dual language in our district. She has also had experience as a reading specialist in our district. And in addition to learning specialist in both North Clackamas and Salem Kaiser, so that breadth of experience around differentiating education is a really nice match for the leadership that we expect from. From our school leaders, and she has her master's degree from Portland State University. So K [00:03:00] time again? Next I'm excited to introduce. Dr. Michelle Jensen who is the new principal of Boone's Ferry primary school. She's been principal that's cool for days now, so she's she's very familiar with the culture and the needs of that school. We are incredibly fortunate especially given the timing of the hired to have some of this. Quality and caliber join our district. I got to do a site visit at Michelle's. I mean, yeah Michelle's former School in Hillsboro where she was Elementary School principal and clearly she's a beloved principal by her staff as well as exceptionally skilled at leading a school that needed a lot of care and forming strong engaging relationships with Children and Families. She has also served in a variety of leadership roles before becoming principal and Hillsboro. She was lead school counselor 504 and tag coordinator in the Hermiston [00:04:00] school district and has her PhD from Oregon State University. So dr. Michelle Johnson. Next I'd like to reintroduce to you to someone who's very familiar to us Meg Leonard. Who is the principal of Cedar Oak Park Primary Meg Leonard is another person who has served our district in many many ways both as a teacher and an instructional coordinator. She most recently served as instructional coordinator at Stafford Primary School since 2016. During that tenure. She was also the director of our summer enrichment program in 2018 Meg Leonard has taught just about everything at Primary in many districts. I might not catch everything, but I know for a fact she's taught kindergarten first grade fourth grade 6 grade and seventh grade both in our district the Corbett school district and in Chicago. Which is one of the reasons we have turned to her so much as an instructional leader Meg has also been a [00:05:00] graduate instructor for Lewis and Clark and for marylhurst. So we're excited to see her move into this new leadership role in our district. And our final new member to the primary team. Dr. Edgar solarz. He is the principal of Bolton Primary School and you will know him from his nap excellent work as assistant principal at Meridian Creek. And he joined us in opening that school and again creating a brand new culture and engaging families and helping them move through the process of going to a new school and feeling very excited about that. He's held multiple leadership positions also in the Beaverton School District and where he served in administrative intern social on their social emotional learning team as well as an equity committee. Tucker édgar Solaris is taught dual language and Spanish Immersion in grades for grades 1 4 and 5 in Beaverton. He is [00:06:00] also taught college level classes at Lewis Clark Portland State University and PCC. And I'm also proud to say he presents at conferences. He's presented at the organ Association for bilingual education the Oregon National Association of Multicultural education and the alliance for Multicultural education. So he's very active not just in our. But it organizations that support teachers across the entire state of Oregon. So we're very very fortunate to have them be our principal at Bolton. Thank you primary principles. I'd like to introduce. Dr. Barbra Streisand who will. I'm pleased to introduce Mike's trendy principal at would middle school and being Atwood middle school today. Mike was there and there were a lot of students there and he said I know school didn't start yet. There were a lot of students there. They were reading the courtyard. They [00:07:00] had jobs. They were they were running the place and he was right in the thick of. It with them. We are very pleased to have Mike's expertise and experience. He's been the Principal at Rosedale Elementary School in Hillsboro and at that scho school and in his prior experience. He's also been an instructional coach. He is taught dual language. So he is taught literacy and math and Spanish and English and he's also served in an instructional coach in that capacity. One of the Hallmarks of his work with dual language is when he writes about it and talks about it. He inserts the idea that there's rigorous work and learning in Spanish and English. So it's the quality of the learning that really really matters to him. He has experience with inclusive practices particularly with taking trauma-informed practices and [00:08:00] making it part of. Ongoing classroom work community and culture work. He has been recognized in Hillsboro for his school making the most growth for a title one school in mathematics in math achievement. What's been said about him by colleagues is he's organized. He's very focused on student achievement, but he's really really really good with kids. Also that he's collaborative and very communicative and that he really builds relationships and cultures. So we feel very fortunate to have him at Wood Middle School. I'd [00:09:00] like Anika Olsen. And dr. Debbie Briggs Chrisman to come up along with the assistant principals. Good evening. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Kenny you Bank who is the new assistant principal at Meridian Creek Middle School. He has a wealth of experience both in the middle school and high school level leadership roles and it is been such a blessing to have him it was tough to replace dr. Solaris. And it's been such a blessing to have him join us. This this summer as he has jumped in rolled up his sleeves and has already added value to our school the way we think and preparing to welcome our third group of 6th graders into Morgan Creek Middle School. So we are thrilled to have her welcome the newest Freshman Class of the Wilsonville Wildcats where she will be able to be the only class you'll be able to say we are all freshmen together. [00:12:00] So. And I would love for Kelly to introduce new assist principal who was unfortunately not able to make it tonight. But we just wanted to least recognize her and then give you a chance to say hi when you get a chance in or around the high. Congratulations, thank you. Yeah, I wish nollie could be here this evening knowledge Strohmeyer is the newest assistant principal at Wilsonville high school. She comes from Sherwood School District where she most recently has been a learning specialist an English teacher and. Really was instrumental in helping them with just thinking a lot about freshman about attendance looking at some of their school-wide systems and she's already been with us this summer and brought in a lot of great ideas and really taking on a Visionary leadership role. So we're excited to have her I wish you could be here tonight. Good evening everyone. It's my pleasure to introduce Miss Donna. All Grant is one [00:13:00] of the the new assistant principals at Westland High School. Don is obviously known done from this tree for 14 years. Don had an opportunity last year to fill in for a maternity leave came in a little came in during the middle of the school year and did an amazing job. I had an opportunity to work with Dawn to my first year in numerous capacities and was immediately clear to me as someone that I can trust. Somebody who has a big heart for kids and works harder than anyone I've ever. Though I was so proud of her during the process and automatically she's become a huge part of our team, and I'm very proud of her and I'm very very happy. All right.
